Ah, the horse dewormer. What the synopsis should have said was millions of people survived COVID-19 despite having taken ivermectin. At one point, smokers were being hospitalized and dying at a statistically lesser rate than non-smokers which made some wonder whether nicotine or one of the hundreds of other poisons in cigarettes was somehow saving people. There are no studies that show ivermectin had any more efficacy than taking ibuprofen or smoking. Sure, people who didn’t get it died but people who did also died. It was good to have hope but people were inexplicably unable to evolve as the science did and hung on to their faith in horse dewormer to the detriment of horses everywhere.

Covid was not a con. Ivermectin is horse dewormer and has shown no efficacy as a treatment for viral infection in any peer reviewed scientific study or trial. That you didn’t learn from the pandemic you’ve resigned yourself to being an irrelevant opinion in future discourse. It is extremely expensive in time and energy and money and collective psychological burden to entertain kooks like above commenters supporting books premise. Culture war is a cottage industry with an inbuilt half life of political relevance. You’re disqualifying yourself from being considered adults as you’re demonstrating an inability to take on adult attitudes to truth and falsehood.

I know a 29 year old former college athlete that died in a little over a week from that con. A great kid healthy as anyone can possibly be. Died from that deadly strain of COVID that hit. There are different strains some less deadly than the flu but some 80 times more deadly. Its idiocy of highest order to say that all COVID strains are the same just like all stains of the flu are not the same. You think the Spanish flu was just the flu? More than 70k people died over a four month period in Europe in 2003 directly as a result of extreme heat. More than 62k died in 2022. The same groups susceptible to COVID were the fatalities: Overweight, heart issues, the elderly.
Know what the plan is in Canada, in 2023, in the heatwave? Giving the elderly and the poor airconditioners. Not locking every building, bolting people alone in their houses, and destroying the entire economy. You know how many people have died from excess heat so far? Single digits at best. Weird, huh? How would quarantining people help with heat related death? And who in their right mind would try to draw a comparison between deaths caused by environmental factors and those caused by disease? That’s like suggesting that since the polio vaccine is effective we should use it to lower the number of traffic fatalities.

Ivermectin also inhibits the replication of bovine respiratory viruses (BRSV, BPIV-3, BoHV-1, BCoV and BVDV) in vitro.
Farmers were treating their livestock with Ivermectin for years for respiratory infections not just parasites. BCoV is coronavirus in cows.
BCoV is deadly for young calves it gives them diarrhea and since calves are on a liquid diet it’s downward spiral from thete.
Ivermectin is known to slow viral replication in bovines.
How effective it is in humans that I don’t know.
