Elizabeth Harker is the English wife of the next President of one of the most prestigious Universities in New England.

But the day her husband’s new role is announced, she discovers the news in the bed of her unnamed lover, a man with whom she has had a torrid affair and who also works at the University, whilst keeping a careful distance from her husband.
