Misinformation and myths have attached themselves to the Egyptian pyramids since ancient Greece and Rome. While many Americans believe that the pyramids were built by aliens, archaeologists understand that the Giza pyramids were built by the pharaohs of the fourth dynasty, around 2450 BCE. So why is there such a disconnect between scholarly opinion and the popular view of Egypt? In The Legends of the Pyramids, Jason Colavito takes us back to Late Antique Egypt, where the replacement of polytheism with Christianity gave rise to local efforts to rewrite the stories of Egyptian history in the image of the Bible. When the Arab conquest absorbed Egypt into the Islamic ummah, these stories then passed into Islamic historiography and reentered the West.
Colavito’s The Legends of the Pyramids lays open pop culture’s view of Egypt in movies, TV shows, popular books, and New Age beliefs, detailing how the “hidden” history of Egypt has grown alongside the official history of archaeology and Egyptology.

Ohhhh the magics of the pyramids is real. 3 twins built in suprep construction in such very old time. they are truly give you feeling of mystery and magic all together.

we can’t even agree on what went on in the US in the last 2 years. How do we know what happened in ancient Egypt ?

No magic was used. The blocks were not cut with power tools from aliens. A very smart HUMAN learned how to make polymer stone. You take the limestone silt from the Nyle and mix it with other sediment and stuff. I’m no scientist but have read all about it. They then have a clay like substance that they packed into molds right where they would lay the blocks. We just rediscovered how to do this in 2008 i believe. The guy who rediscovered this method of making stone tested the blocks at the pyramids and his conclusion is they are polymer blocks. Because they were poured into place and you could mix the “clay” right where the blocks needed to be there was no moving thousand ton blocks no magic no levitating stones. Just good human engineering. I wanted it to be aliens but the facts seem to point to lost knowledge on how to make polymer stone.

these giant triangles were actually supposed be more of a headstone. but it was the early days of maths and there was a mix-up of units which really ballooned the construction all out of proportion.
