Slaves to the method! While making the 1976 film Marathon Man, Laurence Olivier was asked by Dustin Hoffman how he thought a preceding scene had gone, one in which Hoffman’s character had supposedly stayed up for 3 days, Hoffman admitted that he too had not slept for 72 hours in order to achieve emotional verisimilitude. “My dear boy,” replied Olivier smoothly, “why don’t you just try acting?”

Since most acting is television,and Stanislavski died before TV was invented, he’s largely irrelevant. today. Trust me, what makes for good acting in theater does not make for good TV, or a good movie.
Now Brian Reise, he is an excellent acting coach.
