The Hand of Thrawn Duology comprises two novels, Specter of the Past, and Vision of the Future, both written by Timothy Zahn. Set in 19 ABY, the two books explore the end of the Galactic Civil War. While some forces in the Imperial Remnant, led by Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, attempt to make peace with the New Republic, another group, led by Moff Vilim Disra and an apparently resurrected Grand Admiral Thrawn, attempts to destabilize the New Republic. They do this by bringing to light the Caamas Document, containing evidence that the Bothans were guilty of helping Emperor Palpatine all but exterminate the Caamasi people. Meanwhile, Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker investigate a mysterious fortress at the edge of the galaxy.

I loved these books when they came out. I remember I think it was 1991 near Christmas heir to the empire came out. I was floored by how good they where. I was hooked. I read every novel published for the next 20 years. To only have Disney destroy the cannon.

@ bdh420, I agree completely. I got started reading Star Wars a decade or so later though.. To then have all those enjoyable memories etc invalidated, just plain tainted and destroyed by.. DISNEY.
I find that my vocabulary is insufficient to properly describe what I think of DISNEY and the vile ilk responsible.

I don’t like them messing with it either. As a consolation having Disney move some book titles from one of their lists to another does not stop us from enjoying all of them as valid.
