A ‘refined’ treatise to console ‘elite’ pricks - no doubt it’ll go down a storm in corporate boardrooms and billionaire coffee tables the world over.
The entitled exploitation of toiling masses, indeed capitalism generally, is buckling under systeming crisis. Indeed, the only markets that are flourishing these days are those that crisis advantages i.e. big oil, energy distributors, big pharma, the military industrial complex, multinational retailers, landlords etc - i.e. the very same buckaneering parasites we are told (by corporate media) that we simply can’t do without.
I’d pay good money to see the self-satisfied Viscount Ridley (member of the house of lords, no less) tell this to any regular worker, whose salary is going down while their bills are continually skyrocking with absolutely no end in sight.
TBH i very much enjoyed ‘Genome; The Autobiography Of A Species in 23 Chapters’ (the book that made his name), but this wishful, captitalist fantasy novel is 100% BS & highlights to me just how sheltered Ridley is to the grim realities on the ground in the 2020s.
