  Superficially, the thesis - & provocatively absurd title - will be a source of sleazy joy for the usual Jew haters & those who want to keep Jewish people morally “apart,” no doubt. Such questionable scholarship has been compared to the gimmicky book by Assaf Voll, “A History of the Palestinian People” - which consisted of 122 blank pages (in the Hebrew version; 132 pages in English; with the author observing that a planned German version will be significantly longer).

  Michael Balter, in the journal Science, observed: “Shlomo Sand of Tel Aviv University in Israel argues in his book The Invention of the Jewish People, translated into English last year, that most modern Jews do not descend from the ancient Land of Israel but from groups that took on Jewish identities long afterward. Nevertheless, the study by Ostrer’s group concluded that all three Jewish groups — Middle Eastern, Sephardic, & Ashkenazi—share genome-wide genetic markers that distinguish them from other worldwide populations.”

  Well, Semitic refers to a related grouping of languages. So, linguistic rather than strictly genetic. Great to hear abt your banana kinship, all the same. Did you consult the references? What did you make of them? We’ll have to make do with the interested layman’s approach. A genetic marker assists in identifying individuals or species.

  From the literature, what Ostrer’s study measured were indicative genetic markers from the diaspora, in order to establish genetic hx & origins. He & his colleagues “analyzed nuclear DNA from blood samples taken from a total of 237 Ashkenazi and Middle Eastern Jews in New York City and Sephardic Jews in Seattle, Washington; Greece; Italy; and Israel. They compared these with DNA from about 2800 presumably non-Jewish individuals from around the world. The team used several analytical approaches to calculate how genetically similar the Jewish groups were to each other and to the non-Jewish groups, including a method called identity by descent (IBD), which is often used to determine how closely two individuals are related.”
  This & other related studies led to the above conclusions, essentially refuting the Sand’s broad thesis.

  I’m reasonably conversant with the canons of historiography, and, revealingly, “historians of Judaism have stated that Sand is dealing with subjects about which he has no understanding, and that he bases his book on work that he is incapable of reading in the original languages. Sand admits that he is “a historian of France and Europe, and not of the ancient period.”
  Moreover, Prof Michael Berkowitz from UCL has noted, “With a little critical distance, it is possible to criticize this book as a far cry from a ‘real’ work of scholarship. It is flimsy, haphazardly built, slap-dash. There is no foundation in archival research, and Sand does not seem to have fully read (or understood) many of the secondary works on which his thesis relies.”

  In addition to this, many people migrated from the Arabian peninsula to Israel/Judea, millennia after the Israelites.

  while it is unfair to judge a whole group of people on something they have little control over, and while I count a few jews as important mentors, I think its very fair to say, that anyone who can still critically think, has had enough of the mentally ill gaslighting and diversion tactics of a small group of rabid jewish /Sabbatean/zionist extremists, and their allies. To say there isn’t an issue of rabid gentile hatred is extremely ignorant and dangerous, as there are 20 hours of well referenced evidence in the audiobook Synagogue of Satan by Andrew Carrington Hitchcock, and a ton of references and religious texts to back it up. Every group and religion has had to reform in some way and adapt to modern life, except for the Jewish people, through which they seem to hold onto this perverse victim brainwashing and illness that is imbued deep in the psyche and their culture. Even extremes of islam can’t hold a match to it. But there is a cosmic law of what you sow is what you reap, and there will be a time i believe where the jewish people as a whole will suffer, if they do not undertake a much needed self reflection and analysis, especially of their behaviour towards palestine, the west, and their involvement in subversion via globalist/world communist causes, especially in the federal reserve fraud. That would be a path to take that would help reform and protect the jewish people as a whole, but i believe it will be hard for them to look into that darkness.
