Templars in America reveals the story of two leading European Templar families who combined forces to create a new commonwealth in America nearly a century before the voyages of Christopher Columbus. Henry St. Clair of the Orkney Islands, then part of Normandy, and Carlo Zeno, a Venetian trader, made peaceful and mutually beneficial contact with the Mi’kmaq people of what is now Canada. Proof of their travels is carved in stone on both sides of the Atlantic and can be found in documentary evidence borne out by a strong oral tradition that has withstood the test of time. Historians Tim Wallace-Murphy and Marilyn Hopkins draw on archival and archaeological evidence to prove the Templar voyage. They then demonstrate how this early contact with the Americas ties into the centuries-long development of the Templars and Freemasonry, which in turn shaped the thinking of the founding fathers—and the American Constitution.
Wallace-Murphy and Hopkins also reveal the continuous history of American exploration from the time of ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, through the age of the Vikings. Templars in America is a wild ride from the golden age of exploration to the founding of the United States.

Columbus , it is crazy the U.S, has so much named after him and even a federal holiday to a man who never set foot on U.S. land once in his life. Also if you get off a boat and see people you are visiting you didn’t “discover” anything.

@marquisdesade420
Just an observation, but I can’t help but wonder what that user name you chose says about you. We have a reference to the marquis de sade and the number 420. Could be coincidence, but I’ve never felt or found that adopting the consumption of hallucinogens and narcotics as a matter of identity to ever be… shall we say, complimentary. The Critical Drinker can get away with it… but he has personality and sense of humor, and he uses it as a pun that works on several different levels. Not all of us can be so clever.
Anyway, A lot can be said about Columbus, and much of it is far from good. But at the end of the day, Columbus embarked in a trio of tiny boats to do something that, in his day, common belief held would cause him to literally fall off of the earth into… who knows. I’ve never been clear what it was believed people who fell off the edge of the world would actually fall INTO. Perhaps the flat earther’s know. Anyway, he might not have ended up where he thought he was, or gotten where he intended to go, but what he did was the very heart and soul of courage and exploration. The fact that he was a flawed human being, just like you and I, does precisely NOTHING to change that.
To a thinking person, it is not crazy at all. It makes perfect sense. He’s also venerated by Italians as a significant figure in their cultural heritage. Perhaps leave off the 420, stop poisoning your brain with wacky weed and use it for thinking. Such persons as Columbus built the world you live in.
You are technically correct that in universal terms he didn’t discover anything -except perhaps that there was no edge of the world to sail off of, or that if there was it was a lot further away than everyone thought. But you can still discover something that others already know, and bring that information back to OTHER people who don’t already know. So as far as Europe, the place where people who wrote history books lived, was concerned, he DID discover plenty. And from their perspective, they were correct.
