Its communism they are using hitlers handbook. They have guests on CNN calling for more violence against republicans who believe in smaller government more peoples freedoms. People need to wake up before its too late.. You can hate president Trumps personality but hats not why is was elected. He was ewlected because people like obama , Hilary joe and nancy are crooks and murderers. Only obama let out terrorists who blew up our twin towers and democrats think its ok.. many Americans died. They pretend to care about womens rights then downgrades them when they think freely. they call blacks uncle toms for not believing what they say. They call for hate and unrest.. Socialism isn’t what it used to be. Nor is it one thing. In Europe it’s part of a panoply of ideas worth debating both as ideas and for any practice value they might have to offer.
In the US: the same tired, uninformed knee jerk reaction.

Whatever about (occasionally) more measured modern Europe, not sure I’d repose much trust in an American with their fingers on the socialism trigger…
An altogether too risky proposition, particularly given that ideological types have all the historical literacy of a goldfish, with acute dementia.
Europe has an extremely dark history with this thing, don’t forget. Far too much baggage, far too many trains.
We pay for our social programmes with market capital. It’s just about what works.

Thanks! Sounds good, tho an unfamiliar name — unlike Karatani & Wallerstein, who are known worldwide for their original, pathbreaking marxian theoretical texts, and have audioooks on here now. Seeing Karatani here, one of the greatest Japanese marxist thinkers, is a huge and welcome surprise. I look forward to hearing what T Nail has to say. Then if worthwhile, will get the book with the notes (cannot really evaluate or sometimes understand, wo seeing footnotes/endnotes).

I find it quite terrifying the level of ignorance displayed by many Americans - many seem to equate social democrats/ Democratic socialists with communism. They are not the same thing - the key word is democracy - democratic socialists believe in democracy i.e. NOT a one party state. Europeans have had socialist parties and governments for nigh on a century now - the labour party in the UK originally was more left orientated. What amazes me is the same people then go and vote for Trump - who clearly does want a one party state. Oh and another thing there was wide scale fraud during the recent election by Trump and the republicans they went out of their way to disenfranchise as many potential Democrat voters as they could, Also there were 100 of thousands of ballots not delivered on time as a direct result of Trump’s crony running the postal service - That’s the real fraud - NOT Trump’s whining! Why would anybody vote for a paedophile/ rapist/ bigoted/ sadistic conman?
