I hate DEI as much as the next White guy who has been replaced by an illegal immigrant or other shitskin in my home country, but I just want to say you are completely wrong. This book is just as good as the first book. Also, Rending Nightmare is not Mexican, she is Portuguese (the country next to spain, in Europe), the country that raped hundreds of thousands of women and murdered tens of thousand (probably more) of mexican men/women/children alongside Spain for centuries. You are literally just an ignorant retard who hit fast-forward during the first book.
Regardless of that one idiot, I liked the first book, and so far I have liked this book. I am only 4 hours in, but it is just as good as the first. I hope to enjoy the next 8 to 10 books that are currently in the making. I like the OP characters treating people like people and putting assholes in their place.
