  it just gets crazier and crazier. 5-20 years ago the nutjob “theory” was that black women were overweight because 300 years ago, they would intentionally overeat to make themselves fat and unattractive to avoid getting raped. How slaves could carry that out was always a bit…fuzzy. Why white, Asian, “Latino” or aborigines are also obese was ignored.
  Now, we are saying that the stigma around being obese is just another racist thing? No white women have been called horrid things for being fat?
  It’s beyond insane. Maybe in times and places where starvation was a real problem, being a little pudgy was cute. In the developed world in the 21st century, being obese is a HUGE problem, and it ABSOLUTELY is all about health. ABSOLUTELY. It has zero racial component.
  This author is clearly a fraud.
  Oh - I never look back, so whatever names you call me or malarkey you try to present to support the bilge in this book, I will never see it. Knock yourself out.

  just goes to show that anything can be made racist these days. Weaponized racism is a cancer….not only does it hurt the intended political victims but the true victims of racism will face an uphill battle being believed by the more discerning out there. if everything is racist or sexist then no one will take real racism seriously.

  Been looking for this for awhile.

  All I have to say currently in regards to the comments is this:
  - It is not a moral failing to dislike a book.
  It does not make the book bad, if you do not like it.

  But personally?
  I find if you go out of your way to leave a negative comment (cause it’s not a critique if all you have to say is something negative) on a book whose sole focus is on the disparity between modern beauty standards, and the historical basis for this discrimination AGAINST bodies that aren’t the typical “White Waif Women” sterotype, and your comment contains the words “Fat” “Communist” and “Racist” as if it’s meant to imply anything other, than that the book is on point with it’s communicating the much needed message that Black Bodies are desirable, then with all due respect: Stay your hand.

  Not every opinion needs to be heard.
  “If you can’t say anything nice, then do not say anything at all”.

  If you didn’t like the book, or found its well founded message unpalatable, then do not read it.
  - You came here to get if for free, you lost nothing other than the time it took to listen to the audio that someone else paid to have produced.
  - You have not valid grounds to stand on for complaint.

  I’m taking every negative comment as FURTHER endorsement to read this book, and for every person who wrote a truly un-insightful and hateful comment, you are showing your shitty arse to the whole world.
  -You might want to wipe first, before spreading that shit around.
