Publisher’s Summary
Liberty minded individuals and those who believe in the Constitution will find this near future dystopian novel to be right up their alley. Those who are looking to be more informed about the potential threats to America’s financial stability will learn what to watch for and how to prepare themselves for an economic collapse.
America is on the cusp of financial annihilation. Matt and Karen Bair face the challenges of Main Street during a full scale financial meltdown. Government borrowing and monetary creation have reached their limits. When funds are no longer available for government programs, widespread civil unrest erupts across the country. Matt and Karen are forced to move to a more remote location and their level of preparedness is revealed as being much less adequate than they believed prior to the crisis.
Meanwhile, Paul Randall, a third party presidential candidate arises to push back against the welfare and warfare spending that have bankrupted our country. While he has gained expansive acceptance, the fight has just begun. Paul Randall proposes a plan to mitigate the coming hyper-inflationary collapse which is a mathematical certainty. His plan is known as The American Exit Strategy.
American Exit Strategy uses survival fiction to take an in-depth look at the real life politics and economics behind the issues that are likely to trigger a currency collapse or financial meltdown in the near future.
American Exit Strategy is a work of fiction…until it becomes history.
“Too much of a political and religious agenda”
What disappointed you about American Exit Strategy?
I like apocalypse and TEOTWAWKI books but in this one the story is made second to promoting a political and religious agenda. I stopped listening to it after about an hour and won’t finish it. Very disappointing. It’s ok for an author to let their politics and religious beliefs become apparent in a story but here the story is used as a vehicle to get up on a soap box. Its bunk. Get off your soap box and just tell a good story.
What was most disappointing about Mark Goodwin’s story?
See above.
What three words best describe Kevin Pierce’s voice?
Voice was fine.
What character would you cut from American Exit Strategy?
Paul Rand
Any additional comments?
Fail.
“Liberals beware!”
Excellent book! Mr Goodwin has a great handle,on where this country is heading. This is fiction, could very easily be nonfiction very soon.
“Mark has figured it out”
Would you consider the audio edition of American Exit Strategy to be better than the print version?
Mark has taken his time and really figured out what “could” happen in the near future. He has done his research and tells a story with facts behind it. After you read this book you’ll become a prepper, which I think was his goal.
“Fantastic story.”
I truly enjoyed this book, the story line and the charaters where well formed through out the story line. It was really nice not to hear all the vulgar language and I really enjoyed how the Constitution and the first ten amendments being the Bill of Rights were expressed in a Bibllical manner. HIGHLY recommend this book and the second book you will NOT be disappointed Christian or no it’s very well written and well perofrmed.
“Excellent!”
Where does American Exit Strategy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
one of the best!
What other book might you compare American Exit Strategy to and why?
Nothing compares in how well the scenarios thought out
Which character – as performed by Kevin Pierce – was your favorite?
Matt
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
America beware
Any additional comments?
Can’t wait for the movie!
“Awesome! Await audible versions”
I look for 3 things in prepper fiction 1 - disaster plot development, 2 - interesting character development and 3 - prepper hints and ideas. This story was, as a first effort, surprisingly good at all three and I anxiously await the rest of the story! The constructive criticism - contractions are normal for conversations! The narrator improved as the story progressed so I will allow for that as a positive as well.
Bravo Mr. Goodwin!
“Could not stop listening..”
Where does American Exit Strategy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
So far all the books I have listened to are in the “Post Apocalyptic Survival” fiction. This is also the genre I’ve been reading over the last 3 years. As far as listening to a story, this was read flat and sometimes was like being read a field manual. As I paid attention, and like the information provided, I listened closely and found his reading manner appropriate.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Paul Randal- the President,
What about Kevin Pierce’s performance did you like?
His clear pronunciation.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Maybe a little scary, being so probable..
Any additional comments?
I like this story, the style somewhat reminded me of James Wesley Rawles series..I consume books of the genre, but spit out the stories filled with gratuitous violence. I consider them as something of a guide to prepare for the things to come…(?)

Probably cause it comes across as ultra conservative propaganda. People want a good story here, not propaganda.

Any chance for volume #3 in the series?
