I saw the movie, The Brasher Doubloon (1947) long before I knew who Raymond Chandler was or what book it was based upon. You can get a torrent for it.

Bless these unabridged versions. I don’t mind listening Elliot Gould, but they appear to be cut.

Well, I take it back; only some of the books narrated by Gould are abridged. But all Ray Porter’s deliver the goods.

Thanks for this rare gem in the new excellent narration by Ray Porter. Thought no one cares anymore for the real stuff! illodiini: you’re right about Gould, but his version casts a different perspective that fits certain moods!

Very true! And I for one liked his portrayal of Marlowe in The Long Goodbye (the movie).
