Is it possible to keep the porn off the front page? I like porn as much as the next person. But I would rather not see it right in my face while looking for books.

I do consider "romance" novels to be porn by the way, because they are.

There's no way to customise the home page, it's just the newest uploads.

But you can avoid seeing any of the covers if you change your bookmark:

This just shows the titles and dates of uploads, 150 at a time, so it can save a lot of time if you just want to skim the titles compared to paging through those with previews at 5 per page.

I want to second this. All of the porn on the front page (and beyond) is becoming increasingly vexing. You can search through 20 pages of books, and 95% of it will be "romance" novels. It's very frustrating for someone not interested in or currently looking for... well, smut.

I don’t have a problem with smut, except that on a day to day level it’s astonishing how much of it there seems to be, haha.  How much do ABB users need??  Between that and Doctor Who adaptations...  But whatever keeps the kids happy and posting is fine with me.

Just look at the volume of requests and romance, gay and straight, and urban fantasy, much of which is also romantic, takes very big proportion.

Actually if you look at the paper book market, it's the same.

Book covers posted to the ABB are legally acceptable and used by the publishing industry to describe their books.

I don't know how we can determine what everyone's definition of "porn" is but if you don't like the images, you can use an image blocker addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/image-block/ that quickly lets you turn off images for any site.

I avoid the romance novels like the plague, but is popular and should be posted, people want it so keep doing it guys.
I tend to browse by cover so if I see a half naked body it tells me that book probably isn't for me, its very  useful.

Filtering out certain categories would be good, but honestly the home screens never bothered me that much.
It's just a stream of the newest releases, i think it is just more convenient as it is now. Seems like a lot of effort for not much reward

My five cents: I think the amount of LGBTQ related uploads are close to trolling. It's really possible to miss something new and worthy amongst the flood of them.
I'm not against them as such, but really?!!

Well .. other people don't upload/share ... gays do. Nobody is trolling, they are just a generous bunch. Category filtering is on the left side on the main page ... Follow only the category you like and all is okay.

Probably needs to be written for Greacemonkey. The alternative is to use RSS reader.
Just subscribe to the categories you want. Add /feed/ at the end of the category link. For example:

There are much easier ways to troll than obtaining, ripping and torrenting dozens of books.

i guess one plus is we can flag them as unseeded and mark for removal as no way he can seed that many for that long,or just ddos him with mass downloads so he find some other place to ruin  lol just get client to DL,Delete in a endless loop ?

well thats what the emote & lol means joke. have better things to do with my bandwidth than DL that stuff,a tongue in cheek joke maybe,but not something i'd do .saying and doing are a world apart.
its not his/her fault tbh .the site needs updating so people can select the view what they want and not just view all by default and the category on the left is pointless as it shows all before any are clicked and then have to check all as books dont always get listed in the ideal genre. would be better if cookies are used to remember the options selected or once logged in you could check what you wanted to see and hide.

but atm the RSS feed view is the way to go tbh,can select many custom layouts,hide posts that don't interest you,no Ad's no adblocker needed and much more.

just need to get the rules working to hide posts using more than one tag or 2 genres selected and done.

On uploading, last time I checked Category isn't required so relying on FEED is, unreliable.
