You should install both these apps. Occasionally one won't convert but the other will.
For both apps you need to set bit rate to 32k or 64k (*
never set bit rate higher than the original).
Set kHz to 22.5k.
Set Stereo mode to Mono.
For Live Performance, Full Cast or GraphicAudio books, set to stereo if the source is stereo. Set kHz same as source. Set bit rate no lower than 128. An app called MediaInfo Viewer gives info on the source file in HTML-view. After install, just right-click a file and select MediaInfo, easy.
