Sandylamer, you've gotten me interested in this series too. After you started this request, the 4th and final book, The Prodigal was released. Please update the title of your request to include #4. If you read some reviews, lots are saying this is the best of the series, plus there's a bonus epilogue for the family. The Prodigal was a teen in book one and has been growing through every book. There was an important twist in book 3 that involved him. Trying not to give any spoilers, but reading reviews on #4 got me excited about it. The series averages 4.3 on Goodreads.
