If you see a reseed request and find you have the same files as in the torrent, you can reseed it no matter what source yours came from.

Note: if the files are the same, you can seed two or more torrents from the same folder. But don't try to DOWNLOAD two torrents to the same folder at the same time, they will just get confused writing and overwriting each other. Seeding is only reading the files, so that's fine.

Using uTorrent

Put your files in a folder.
Make sure your filenames are the same as in the torrent. If not, rename them to match.
The torrent file has a list of the files in the torrent, both the names and a checksum of the contents.
As long as what's inside the files are the same, all you need to do is make the names match what the torrent has and it will work.
But if the contents are not identical, just renaming the files will not work; you cannot seed from them.

Load the original torrent. Choose the "Save as" folder the one where you put the existing files.
DO NOT START IT YET -- Unselect "Start torrent".

Right-click on the torrent name. Choose "Force Recheck". If your files match, it will now say 100%.
Now Start the torrent and you are seeding. Use "Force start" if it goes to "Queued" status.

Other tweaks: sometimes a torrent includes some extra files, like "Downloaded from Demonoid.txt", etc.
Not having those gives you the annoying "99.9% complete" message and you can't completely seed.

But just start it anyway and if there are any partial seeds for the torrent, with any luck you can get the missing files from other peers.
If not, look around your torrents and you often find the same file -- make sure it's exactly the same number of bytes, copy it to the new folder, stop the torrent, recheck to see if it matches, restart.

If the torrent is already loaded, stop it and go down to the tabs named tracker, details, etc and click on Options.

Highlight the torrent, click on Move and find where you have your file stored and click on that master file but not the torrent file itself or it will try to download into that file.

Start the torrent and it will check but if you have tried to find it previously it will say something like "file already exists, do you want to merge?" Tell it "yes". If you are not sure if you will mess up make a backup copy of the file to be safe.

If you are just loading a torrent you want to seed don't start it until you check the "local file location" in the bottom-left box and tell it where your file is stored.
