First let me say that when you create this special Avatar, it's tied to an email address.
Any site you sign in with
that email address may display
that avatar, normally when commenting (that site has to enable code for this to work).
You can have more than one of these Avatars so if you need one for your professional "Real Life" self, attach
it to your professional "Real Life" email. Attach your crazy fun Avatar to another Email account.
A Warning about gmail: Gmail is constantly trying to put my various Gmail accounts into my Google account. It's very annoying. And dangerous, because if you are sharing illegal shit you probably don't want people knowing your real name, or at least your last name.
So I strongly suggest you create a new email account at another service. Maybe one you've never used before. And consider NOT giving them your phone number or other emails.
If you are using a tracking blocker (like me, Ghostery addon, FireFox) you'll have to "allow" Gravatar so it can fetch your Avatar.
Now the easy part...
