Many of Everand's new audiobook releases are in ts format. I'm able to download the ts files with Internet Download Manager. Has anyone found a good program/app to convert ts files into mp3 or m4b format? Thank you

Hey Lucille,
I haven't converted this type of file but...
VLC or Handbrake should be able to convert TS to MP3, maybe m4a.
As for m4b...did you try the InAudible app?
Other people here can help you with adding chapters/converting (I think that's remuxing, not converting, so no quality loss) to m4b if you want that.
Related information: Inside the TS container could be many types of audio but it's likely either MP3, m4a, AAC, AC3, ogg. Handbrake should be able to identify it. Handbrake is free open source.

To everyone: If these companies are streaming books (TS is a streaming format) instead of allowing you to download, it's going to eat your battery. Much better to download the book if you can and convert if you must. ...And share it here.

I guess Everand/Scribd had changed things again. I've been able to find the web link to m3u8 files. But, I haven't been able to download the files. I've tried Internet downloader, HLS Downloader, and a couple other downloader addons in Firefox. I get a window that prompts me to log in to audio.production.scribd.com and realm authorization required. And of course entering my Everand/Scribd login info does not work. Another authorization is required for the site/path window pops up. So, no success so far.

Can you put the TS file on GDrive or other? Zip it first. I don't use Scribed so I'm can only offer suggestions... If the app was working for you before Nov 27th, you could try to install the previous version of the app. Not on the playstore. Sideload it. They may require you upgrade anyway, maybe not. If this works, set device so it won't update again. *You may want to try all this on another device...a burner phone/whatever. https://apkcombo.com/scribd/com.scribd.app.reader0/old-versions/You can search the page source. It's likely only pointing to TS files but you can search mp3 etc. If you find a promising link, paste that in jdownloader2 or other. You can force JDownloader2 to grab everything. It's a mess so sort by size. If you're using a browser addon try the app instead or vice versa. None of this may work. I'm not much of a hacker. Sorry.

Unfortunately, jdownloader2 didn't work with promising links on the pc. I also tried downloading the file on my phone. Everand has something in place that blocks the ability to located and grab the file. They've definitely surpassed my skill level. Hopefully, someone will find a work around in the future. Thanks for your time and advice.

I believe others here are using an app to record in real time. It sucks but maybe a good time to put that old phone to good use. Connect it to your home network and let it record books everyday...Then Share them HERE! Stick to the MAN!

Since TS data is parsed out in chunks, it seems like slowly skipping forward would result in the data getting requested/sent/downloaded faster. I guess a script could do this automatically? If the local buffer can be accessed, the complete book should be there (in full) unless it's being limited by apps' buffer size or deleted intentionally.

A good test would be to listen to a whole book... Shut off internet access, then try to play chapter one. If it plays, the data is still on the device.

The .m3u8 link is the "master" link to all the indexed parts, something like yt-dl may grab it if JD2 didn't work.
I use it to grab video streams from time to time, when finished it wraps all the parts back up in the original container...mp4...etc.

In the Everand player on desktop browser I couldn't find neither mozilla nor Chrome addons to download any files.
Tried Jdownloader download manager. It was also useless.
I was able to track files .exo format not TS inside several folders in my phone from the everand App (Path: Android - Data - com.scribd.app.reader0) but renaming their .exo to mp3, mp4 or m4a the output doesn't play in any player. Online exo format converters give an error message.
I figured I could try and use some screen recorder app to record the screen of the Scribd app in my phone but internal audio recording is only available for Android 10 and above even for third party apps (My phone is below 10) Recording internal audio with microphone noise I refuse to even try. Anyone had new ideas??

Thank you for the article Dallis! I had tried to install Bluestacks and Nox player yesterday, had no luck. After reading the recommendations I tried Genymotion emulator. This was the third one to get stuck in 99% installation! Looking some more I've learned that to run emulators the computers must have something called VT (Virtual Technology) There's this program to learn if one's computer has VT enabled or supports it (mine doesn't) LeoMoon CPU-V https://leomoon.com/downloads/desktop-apps/leomoon-cpu-v/ Looking around I found out there's at least one emulator for computers without the VT option, SmartGaGa. Downloaded it, installation ran smoothly, when I clicked the first icon in it... my computer shut down! Twice! I was that stubborn to try again after making sure the computer wasn't fried But I'm throwing the towel on emulators and I ran out of ideas. Also Mozilla addons for screen recording a video of the web browser player didn't work either
