Welcome to the ABB forum!

BEFORE MAKING A REQUEST:

First, be sure the book isn't already uploaded.
Use the search box in the top right of the Torrent Section at https://audiobookbay.lu/.
Search by a few words in the title, or the author's name. Some torrents are named obscurely. Using "" around a name or title usually works best. Ex. "mark tufo" "peter rabbit". Use Advanced Search (the triangle next to the magnify glass icon) if you get too many results.

If you do find a torrent, but you don't immediately connect to a seed, leave it connected for a few weeks. Older torrents may have only a few intermittent seeds. Then, if still no result, you can request a reseed.

-- Note that some old torrents may say "invalid path in torrent". But they are perfectly valid despite that. See here for details and workarounds.

If you're sure the book isn't already uploaded, then:

Second: Check if there is an existing request thread.

Go to the "Request an Audiobook" section and search. If there is a unsatisfied request, you may bump it (add a "Me too!", etc.). But if the request has been archived -- i.e., put in "Fulfilled" or "Unfulfilled" -- you should start a new request.

If there is no open request, you can make a new request:

HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST

Open a request in the appropriate subforum(category) of the Request section. Choose one forum only; do not spam copies in multiple subforums(categories). Do not post in the top section. Choose a genre. If you need help search Goodreeds.com or the General Help section of the forum.

All three sections must be filled:
Title and Author -- must be precise -- and check they are spelled correctly.

Reseed: Tick (Check) ONLY if there is already a torrent for the book on ABB that you can't download. Please give this a week or more as people close torrent apps for gaming or are otherwise disconnected.

Link(s): Here give a link that shows the audiobook you want. The publisher usually.
For a reseed, post the ABB link you want reseeded, and whatever description you like. -- DO NOT use link redirects (e.g. goog.gl); and you can delete the referrers text after the ASIN in an Amazon or Audible link (see here). --
Then click Request! to post it.

Links must show that the requested books exist in audio format and where they are available.
Review sites, like Goodreads, may have a link that is actually a search with uncertain or no results. So find the page, usually the publisher's product page for the audiobook, where it is offered for sale.

When you create a new request, open it and click "NOTIFY" at the top or bottom, and select "Notify me of replies". Then you will get an email alert if anyone responds (even weeks or months later).
To get emails from the site, check your account Profile; then "Notifications and Email". There is a box: "When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email" that needs to be ticked/checked. And also make sure that emails from the forum can get through to you and are not blocked as spam.

If you need to add information to a request, use the Modify/Edit button: . Don't make a new post.

Single book requests:
Author & Title in the subject line. In the body Paste link(s) referring to the audio edition of book(s) you wish to be uploaded.

Series requests:
Author & Series Name in the subject line. (Please include book numbers needed, ex. 4-7). The body should include individual Titles and Links to each book to assist uploaders searching for your book. Most books are indexed by Title not Series Name.
*See request limits below.

Reseed requests:
Click the "Reseed" button, (which adds the word "RESEED" to the subject line), along with Author & Title. In the body paste link(s) to the ABB torrents you wish reseeded -- many books are included in more than one torrent -- and you should check them all before requesting a reseed.
*See request limits below.

*Requests that don't meet above requirements are moved to "Removed Torrents."

Requesting Multiple Books:

Multiple books of a single series is allowed. Provide links to each audiobook (such as Audible.com)

Various titles by author is not allowed. Please make a request for each book. Provide links to each audiobook (such as Audible.com).

Various titles by various authors is also not allowed. Please make a request for each book. Provide links to each audiobook (such as Audible.com).

Check for responses!
If you clicked "NOTIFY" as suggested when making the request, or any time later, you'll get a message when anyone responds.
Also at the top right of every page is a Replies link: that will show you all new replies to any threads you have posted in.

When a request is filled:
Notice at the top of your first post that there is a green tick/checkmark and a red cross:

Click the green tick/check mark to show the request is filled. If it turns out there is a problem with it, click the cross to un-accept.

Also it's good manners to add a brief post to acknowledge the uploader and add a link to the torrent page so others can easily find it.
Mods will move threads to the archive once they see it's fulfilled.

Book Request Limits:
Please Note, these limits are to prevent users from spamming the board with their requests. Members attempting to circumvent this guiding principle will be warned or banned and requests removed as deemed appropriate.
  • Do not duplicate request threads and/or cross-post in multiple subforums (categories).
  • Maximum of 7 requests per week (a Series-Request counts as one Request). See Series Request rules above.
  • You may bump* any request, once every 2 weeks, but no-more than 10 requests...total. This limit includes your own requests.
  • If someone makes a new request, you can add a comment to show your interest in that request. Persistent or repetitive commenting on a request may be considered bumping - based on content, user activity, etc..

*Bumping is making a comment on a request, mostly people just type "Bump". This "Bumps" the request back to the top of the thread in hopes someone will easily see it, and fill the request.

We're all volunteers; uploaders, seeders, members solving problems, answering questions and commenting.

All of you are appreciated! Thank you all for being part of our community!
