To start with ...A Nubie here...Gaby! My current status suggests I figure out how to upload some books I already have. I would though appreciate knowing upload\download ratios.
Hope to see some of yall in the coming months
No ratios here, in fact the site doesn't have its own tracker. When you upload a torrent it lists several public trackers you can use. So sharing is its own reward here.
Also you can't edit your torrent after you upload it, so take care all the info is correct.
Have a look at this thread:
https://audiobookbay.lu/forum/general-questions/help-me-share-for-the-first-time/for how to upload.
My own recommendations:
DO NOT post Audible .aa or .aax files, only the original purchaser can play them.
There are threads her about how to convert them if you need to.
Save as plain MP3 or .m4a. Bitrate depends on the content, spoken word, no music, 32 kbps is fine and gives a compact file.
If you need to edit/join/split an MP3 file, get MP3DirectCut, which can do all that without degrading the audio.
Nice to tag the files using MP3tag.
Both those apps are free.
Finally, name the files sensibly, e.g. "Title-01.mp3", etc) stripping out any codenumbers from your source.
Put all the files in one folder, along with perhaps a cover image. Then you can create a torrent file by selecting the folder.
