Title: Don't upload huge zip/rar files!
Post by: Gweilo on July 03, 2018, 10:01:52 PM
A new upload today:
"Lesbian Romance Audiobook Collection Updated - Melissa Brayden, Georgia Beers etc"

No problem with that content, except that
1) it was a single 20 GB zip file
2) there was no list of what if anything it contained.
3) it was uploaded anonymously.
So this was deleted.

All torrent sites with any rules at all ban such uploads.
Zipping audio (or video) files for torrents is more than a waste of time: audio files are already maximally compressed, it saves no space.
You can't sample the upload by getting a small part, it's all or none.
Worse, it conceals what is actually included. Any garbage could be inside the zip.
They can be malicious files and/or scams to make you pay for content (which you will never get, even if you pay).
Even if it is all good, to play it you have to unzip it. Then you have doubled the space it takes up, unless you delete the zip; and if you do that, you cannot seed it.

So: Don't do this. Such uploads will be deleted on sight.
