If you don't get the last 1% of a torrent, there are other things to consider. I don't know about your torrent client, but in qBittorrent, you can see where the missing part is located on the bar graph under the General tab. If it's at the beginning or end, it may just be that the opening or closing credit is missing. Sometimes it's between books. If you look under the Content tab, you can see which book is affected (not at 100%). Sometimes it is just missing a .cue or a .jpg file. You can also try clicking on the incomplete file and see if it plays. If so, check if you have the beginning and ending. If everything works out, I eventually save to my storage BUT label it as missing a part and note all the info I have about it. I wouldn't want to later use that and spread a defective copy. When I listen to that book, I like trying to spot where the gap was. Sometimes it's easy to spot where a few words or sentences were lost, but sometimes I can't even tell anything was missing.

Crediting the source: I continue to learn most of what I know from reading in this forum.

Some  related points here:

For a missing image file, often it's the same image used as the torrent cover image, so see if that matches (rename it to match the image in the torrent, then do a force recheck to see if it is the same as the original).

And if you have an MP3 file missing a bit at end or beginning, you may be able to salvage it by loading it in MP3DirectCut, checking the beginning and ending then saving. If it's stuff about the publisher, you can cleanly cut that and still have the complete book. Or there may be metadata, such as a cover image, which you can add using MP3tag.

But never, ever re-up an incomplete file.
