If you're getting this error: "Invalid Torrent File" You're very likely using uTorrent version 3.4 or aboveSomeone reported BitTorrent (7.9.1) gave the same error. [unconfirmed]
What to do...Option #1 Roll back to an earlier version of uTorrent. uTorrent 3.2.3 build 285705 was the last build that works however, uTorrent version 2.2.1 was the best version
EVER, because it doesn't have ads and bloatware.
Search for uTorrent 2.2.1. After installing be sure to Un-Check the "Automatic Update" and "Check for Updates" boxes under Options/Preferences in uTorrent.Option #2 - You can switch to another Torrent Client completely OR just use it for torrents you have trouble with. http://lifehacker.com/5813348/five-best-bittorrent-applicationsSo, are you curious about why uTorrent 3.4 is giving you this crap? The kind folks at uTorrent "fixed" a problem that allowed you to download torrents that were created with a blank space in the file structure. They said this was a security hole and so prevented uTorrent 3.4 and after from accessing those torrents. Most people say it's BS but it is what it is...whatever it is.
A search of the uTorrent forums, has lots of complaints and only a few one-line vague comments from their admin that were not much help for people trying to understand, W.T.F. was going on. -
