Since ABB specialises in audiobooks, we have a format designed to present them in the best way.
This assumes you have already read
Torrents: How to Create and Share? a Book on the ABB, A Step by Step Guide. This goes into a bit more detail about the ABB upload form.
I'll use this torrent as an example:
https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/a-darkness-forged-in-fire-chris-evans/When you upload a torrent you see a form to write the basic info.
First:
Audiobook Title: A Darkness Forged in Fire
Author(s): Chris Evans
making a heading :
A Darkness Forged in Fire - Chris EvansWe like to keep it as simple as possible. There is no need to write "Audiobook" in the title for example (everything here is an audiobook), or "Requested" (many uploads fill requests, reply to the request thread in the forum to advise), or "Unabridged" (almost every book here is unabridged). Or "Fixed" if it replaces a damaged torrent (the damaged one is already deleted, there is no distinction to be made). Just the actual title, series name if any, and the author in the "Author" slot. Everything else goes in the description text.

Cover URL: https://i.imgur.com/UJQGVcu.jpg
A link to an image of the cover of the the book. Make sure it is to an
image file --
the URL must end in .jpg or .png. Preferably using an image hosting site like
imgur.com, there are many others. Many uploaders hotlink to the publisher's image, e.g. on Amazon, though that allows them to mess with it if they want; Graphic Audio, e.g., blocks image links if you try to use them.
Note: the covers are displayed at 200 pixels wide. Larger images will be scaled down, but anything larger than 100KB will only slow down the display of the page, with no better visible quality. (You may see no delay since the image is already cached by your browser.)
So please use the smaller image links, reduce the image yourself in e.g. Irfanview, use JPEG which can compress much more than PNG or GIF, reduce the image size in pixels if necessary to no more than 500px (the standard cover size for audio), and adjust JPEG quality setting to get filesize less than 100kB.

Narrator(s): Michael Kramer
This is important, especially as some books have had several different audio editions. It's normally announced at the beginning, so it's usually not hard to find out.
Next the three
Category tags are important to allow people to find their favourite genres. Please take a moment to choose appropriate ones for each book.
I used "Action", "Military", "Fantasy". The order doesn't matter.
You can just choose one at a minimum and leave the others at "Other" if nothing else seems appropriate.
Keywords: Iron Elves, elves
These are freeform tags. Do not duplicate the set categories, that is pointless.
Most useful to put the series (here "Iron Elves"), or the subgenre.
Note that the tags are text separated by a comma, a string of words just creates one long, unique tag. All other punctuation is stripped. Capitalisation is not significant. The system creates
links to other torrents with the same tags, each tag links to a list of other torrents with that tag, and also displays some in the "Related Audio Books" list on the right, if there are any. So other books in the same series are shown if uploaders are consistent.
A unique tag, like the book title, that does not link to any other book, is useless.
A tag like "Book 3" is worse than useless, as it can only link to "book 3" of a different series.
So the above tags will make the links:
https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/tag/elves/ and
https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/tag/iron-elves/.
The "Related" list is filled from these tags alphabetically, then just recent uploads; so a generic tag like "Action" will fill the list before you get to a more specific one like "Jack Ryan" later in the alphabet. So a couple of relevant tags are much better than several generic ones.
Bitrate: 32 Kbps
A datum easily found by the uploader, e.g. by reading from a media player, or a
MediaInfo app. This is important to some downloaders. Some really want 256Kbps or higher. Others prefer a smaller file. They can't complain if you tell them up front. If the bitrate is VBR (which is recommended), choose the preset bitrate closest to the average rate of your upload.
Description A couple of paragraphs about the book. Please review this to be sure it's appropriate. Random readers' reviews are unhelpful. Or gushing about the beautiful illustrations in the hardback.
IMPORTANT: if you are doing an omnibus torrent, i.e. several books under a heading like "Complete works of XXX", make sure that you
list all the titles in the description, even if your filenames are descriptive. The site search does not index filenames, only the description and metadata you put in.
And finally, please do a search before uploading to see if the same version has been uploaded recently. Yet another multi-GB copy of "Harry Potter" isn't the best use of resources, both yours and the others who download and seed it.
Note that you can revise the description of your previous uploads from
your "User" page. Click on the pencil button:
You can do all this quickly if you have all the info in a text file in another window and just paste it in. But if you take too long the system sometimes forgets your login and publishes it as Guest, which is annoying.
(If that happens, just log in and do it again, under your name.
Report the Guest duplicate here and it will be deleted.)
To avoid that you can click the "Share it" button to publish the torrent when you have the minimum info filled in, and then modify it at leisure.
Feel free to discuss in the
General Questions forum.
