I don't usually read/listen to crime/thriller books, and I generally get bored by Alex cross books, but I recommend Kill Alex Cross.  It's like a 24(tv series, Jack Bauer) action movie, where the protagonist, police detective Alex Cross, must stop a terrorist attack on the US and as the clock ticks down, find out who kidnapped the son and daughter of the US president and save them.
