Resurrection by Arwen Elys Dayton. 4 stars I was afraid this was going to be "cheezy/stupid" because of the pyramids on the cover but it's a really good story. Pay close attention the first few chapters...there are 4 stories that occur at different points in history.

https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/resurrection-arwen-elys-dayton/

Next I read the Evil Genius trilogy by Catherine Jinks 4 stars (like a Harry Potter book but no magic)

Book 1 The paranoia toward the end almost gave me a headache.
Book 2 Awesome
Book 3 In the last book the genius-boy could as usual, understand complex stuff but obvious things he'd miss....still I really enjoyed all these books. The narrators were great. Smiley

I just finished the "Mass Effect" series by Drew Karpyshyn. It's a solid Scifi story. 4 stars.

"Scarlet" by Marissa Meyer, book two of The Lunar Chronicles. It's an interesting spin on classic fairytales, while not being at all predictable because of their roots. Once I finish, I'll post a review on my blog. Can we link to book review blogs if we have one? Or is it best to not?

Hu, guys!  Smiley

I also have a blog but announcing it here sounds a bit scary and even though I buy print books I still feel like a huge cheater.  Grin

I'm currently reading The Kiss of Deception but I also just got in the mail The Mime Order so I'm not sure if I should start TMO instead.

I'm listening to John O'Brien - New World 3 - Sanctuary. I'm not liking the new narrator (Mark Gagliardi). His volume goes up and down but he has very little inflection and he rushes through and so it sounds like he’s just reading a script. Mark doesn’t totally suck but I’m not buying the rest of these books. Sad Christopher John Fetherolf did the first three books and was much more fun to listen to. Like Sean Runnette, Christopher can deliver the sarcasm and irony. For me the series went from 4.5 to 3 stars.  Cry  Cry  Cry  Cry

I just read the whole Lunar series (1,2,3,&3.5) by Marissa Meyer.

The books had your typical YA characters but very little sappy romance. Not too much scifi or violence either. The story was a fast paced, adventurous, fun read, with a few giggles, that drew me right in and kept me listening. Also, the narrator is awesome. If you like boy-meets-girl books you will like this, definitely not a heavy romance. I think guys could like this book too if they would try it. Smiley

Really interesting, truly hard to put down.  Terrifying and haunting, Rebecca's positivity is truly inspiring.
One of the beast books I`ve read this year.

I'm reading the "Newsflesh Trilogy". Current on book 3. I almost quit after an hour but then it started to pickup pace. I'm happy I kept listening. Story is entertaining. Characters are fun and pace is good. If you like Zombies and "The Hunger Games", you will like this YA book. 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5.

I'm listening an Odd Thomas book called Odd Apocalypse, read by excellent David Aaron Baker. He really brings to life the character.
I don't feel bad about downloading these. I buy tons of books, last project was to order all Spenser-novels from Amazon. They're a legion, I tell you. Grin

Gated by Amy Christine Parker
A creepy psychological thriller about a brainwashed community and a leader who'll do anything to keep them in line. Pioneer was so scary, and the way he was unquestionably obeyed by all was even scarier. Lyla was so brave. My heart was racing by the time I reached the end of the book. Disturbing, gripping, and so well done! I loved it!

When I was 17 someone I went to highschool with gave me Perks Of A Wallflower to Read.  I became eternally grateful to this person for giving me such a well-thought out gift. (A year later to return the favor I gave her a book of my father's that was just collecting dust: The complete works of Plato)

As someone who has always been mainly focused on non-fiction, I was really happy with how much I liked Perks Of A Wallflower.

In addition, I have had the experience in real life, many times, of being in a car driving through the tunnels that are described in a scene in the book. And also the experience of people who see the city you see when you come out of the tunnells for the first time.  It is a powerful experience!

A really good read, this one.

I've had the DEAD series by T.W. Brown a long time but just started it last week. Currently on book 7. Good Zombie series and the narrator (Andrew McFerrin) is good but all of the voices are the same so I sometimes get confused between the different stories and various characters. Totally could have used more narrators for this many characters. 50? so far?

Because I get confused I don't think I'm getting to know the characters as well as I'd like and they seem inconsistent. Sad Even the characters themselves are getting confused.... Kevin, a leader of a group, complained that one minute he's suppose to be the leader and then next he's treated like a kid (he's 18)...exactly what was bothering me. LOL That's one of the few laughs I've had while listening to these (BTW I like a zombie that can make me laugh so a few points off for lack of humor). Really, if you can't laugh in a zombie apocalypses... Roll Eyes

To be fair, I listen to books while doing other things so not giving them full attention. Still, the characters aren't really popping out for me. The story is OK, characters OK, Narration OK/-. I know a lot of people like this series and I do too...I just wish it was as good as Zombie Fallout.      3.2 stars

Going back through the Douglas Adams Magnum Opus.(Hitchhikers's Guide) I find it truly pays to have this one in paper as the narrator has trouble with obscure joke delivery but as i'm a twelve hour a day listen as I work audio junkie I still find myself grinning at the wall often so definitely still worth it.
