Finished Dead Highways. Good story and lots of Humor. Although the characters did stupid things occasionally, i really liked them and the story. 4 stars. Also finished "A Stir of Echos". The pace was a little slow and the narrator sometimes "Over acted". I didn't like the way the women were portrayed but this was written in the 1950's so I guess it was normal. I didn't realize the book was that old until the credits at the end. LOL. I give it 3 stars (good book but nothing special)

Percy Jackson's, The Greek Gods by Rick Riordan: Plenty of smiles, giggles, hoots, lol's and LMAO sewn into to this fast paced recounting of classic Greek mythology. 5 stars!!!! BTW if you loved "The Gospel According to Biff" you will love this one too (and vice verse). Same reader, same style. Fun fun fun. https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/percy-jacksons-greek-gods-rick-riordan/

Read Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, Steven Barnes - Heorot 1 - The Legacy Of Heorot. This was a very interesting story about colonizing a new world. 4.5 stars

Hey! I finished the "Eve Series" (Eve, Once, and Rise) by Anna Carey. The main character (surprise!...Eve) really did some stupid things in the first book but in the other books she was much better. A coming of age story where main characters die (+1) she doesn't obsess over her boyfriend, much (+1) and the story was good. 3 stars being good/ 4 really good...I give the series 3.5 stars.

I was on the fence about trying the Eve series...guess I'll give it a try!
Bluegrass series (Molly Harper) turned out to be cute enough.
Then went on to Breakable by Tammara Webber. Easy was a good story - I think I gave it 4 stars which surprised me. Breakable is the same story, but told from the guy's point of view. At first it started out great...and then after chapters of him going on about how awesome the main female character is it just got creepy. Stalker creepy. Couldn't finish...1-2 stars.
On to novellas in the Night Huntress series - Happily Never After and Devil to Pay. Really liked Happily Never after (4 stars), but Devil to Pay was a bit boring and didn't hold my interest. I know these stories involve insta love, but this one had a bit too much.
Then read First Drop of Crimson and Eternal Kiss of Darkness, the first books in the Night Huntress World series. Really liked the first one (4 stars again), and the second a solid 3. I liked the original Night Huntress books enough, but it is interesting to read about back characters as well.
Read the entire Darkness Falls series by Krystal Wade - a newbie author. They were awesome. I was completely surprised. 4-5 stars. Normal YA PA story where a girl finds out she is speeeshal and only she can save the world while she finds her true love...but it didn't read boring and stale like other books in this genre to me. It was original and plenty of characters died, which made it seem realistic.
Now onto Dark Legacy series by Jayne Krentz. I had to force myself to read these despite the cheesy covers... in general I avoid any books with just a sexy shirtless male on the front. However, these are okay so far. A little flat, but I like the mystery aspect. Finished the first Copper Beach (3 stars) and onto the second now.

Read the The Legacy Of Heorot Series (1, 1.5, 2) by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle & Steven Barnes. A good story about conquering/colonizing a new planet. Characters are kinda "wooden" as in many HARD scifi books but the story is good adventure. 4.5 for science fiction lovers. Neanderthal seeks human. Typical lust story lol, with some funny parts. 3 stars...I'm sure I'll read the rest of the series.

Well, second book in Dark Legacy (Jayne Krentz) was a DNF.
On to The Sevenfold Spell by Tia Nevitt. I was really looking forward to this one, but another DNF. Started out strong and then quickly became weird. Less than 2 stars...
Then Bloodfire by Helen Harper - another series I had heard great things about and was really looking forward to. Yet another DNF, blech.
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood - you got it, another DNF!
I was getting pretty frustrated at this point and started The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. EXCELLENT series. Solid 4 stars for the first 2 books and I gave the last book 5. Was pleasantly surprised!
Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay. Yet another DNF. Freaking insta love hardcore...
On to The Gathering by Alexandra Bracken. 4 stars for the first book. 3 for the second in the series (The Calling) because not much happened - even though book was well written enough to still keep me entertained. In the middle of the third now...

The Hope Series by Chrissy Peebles. Great book...if you're 9 years old. Paper-thin story and characters with juvenile dialog. Did not finish.

Glen Cook - The Dragon Never Sleeps... Like all Cook's books its very dark. Unique and worth checking out. I'm wondering if people might be able to offer a suggestion. I fell in love with the Metatropolis series. I love the world the authors have constructed and weaved throughout the series. Anyway I'm having a rough time at the moment and I'm hoping someone may be able to offer a suggestion on a new and similar themed storyline. Its kind of Post environmental apocalypse / Eco warrior political drama / Sci-Fi.

kind of Post environmental apocalypse / Eco warrior political drama / Sci-Fi. The Windup Girl - Paolo Bacigalupi probably other of his stories too Can be found in several torrents here, including one today. Might also consider the original Dune by Frank Herbert. Not the many sequels/prequels. Kim Stanley Robinson's "Science in the capitol" trilogy. Forty Signs of Rain 50 Degrees Below 60 Days and Counting Stand On Zanzibar - John Brunner

Finished David Gerrold's The War Against the Chtorr. I wasn't expecting it to be a good. How surprised was I? About this surprised... It was pretty damn good. So now I'll be reading the whole series. Just about to finish Sam A. Patel's Data Runner. I was expecting better Mr Patel. A great deal better. Frankly I'm a little disappointed... And perhaps even a little teary. Half way through Jeff Sutherland's Scrum: The art of doing twice the work in half the time. I give the man 7.38 out of 5 for his insights and ideas.

3=good/OK 4=very good 5=awesome Julie Du Pre - Benton: I liked this Zombie story but at 2.5 hours...I was just getting into the story and characters and ... "The End" 3.5 stars. Eli Constant - Dead Trees: Great story! Something other than a vamp/zombie/alien story. Creatures from underground. It is apocalyptic but the writing, storyline above average. The characters are 3-D and have their own agendas and alliances. They form friendships, have tough decisions, betray trust. It's realistic but there are weak points to the story but I'm really looking forward to book 2. 4.25 starsNaomi Fovle - Gala 1 - Astra: I haven't finished this one yet. The writing is very good. The story is good. The narrators are ok but there's not much action or conflict...so far.

Thanks to another wonderful up-loader on ABB, I'm listening to the sultry voice of Jeffrey Kafer as he reads Maya Banks's "Keep Me Safe (Slow Burn #1)"
I just finished really reading the last book in the Feral Warrior's series by Pamela Palmer "Wulfe Untamed" was a good read, would love if it were on audio. I do have the first 5 on audio and the up-loader was kind enough to include the remaining 3 in epub, and pdf format so I didn't have to guess as to the conclusion of the series would end. So, thank you again for sharing.

Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker - This was an interesting story but a bit wordy a few times (slow pace). A few light laughs. 3 stars
Living With the Dead by Jesse Petersen - (books 1-3). Decent Zombie books. Good humor. 3 stars
Afterworlds by Scott Westerfield - A good life after death story. Interesting story, characters. Good pace. 4 stars
The Quite Invasion by Sarah Zettel - Well written, good story, complex characters/motivations. A political - Sci-Fi novel. 3 stars
My Dead Boyfriend by Barbara Rose - This is more a young teen book but it's not a romance - Magic and Fairies. Simple characters, Simple story, Boring. For me it's 2 stars.

Welcome to Our Village, Please Invade Carefully - Series 1+2 - Eddie RobsonOh, MyGod ! This was fantastic! I totally loved this whole series especially the fete episode…Loved the songs. LMAO This broadcast is more like an audio version of a play (which I’d love to see live) than a audiobook. Quick, witty, clean and funny. Like Hitchhiker’s Guide but, a more “terrestrial” humor based on word play and just good characters and great comedic writers. The most fun audiobook I’ve listen to in months! link: https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/welcome-to-our-village-please-invade-carefully-series-12-eddie-robson/
