I'm listening to the third Dark Impulse book by Edmund Hughes. It's arduous, I really hate the main love interest so much. And the main character just rolls with all her nonsense. If I wasn't so hoping something would change by the middle of this book, I would not bother with it. Plus I like the magic of it, just the stupid two characters are grinding my nerves.

My kids enjoyed the movie so I thought I'd give it a try in the car on the way to work.

Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, Book 1 The Dragonbone Chair Wow, what a book it is! Never thought fantasy could be so well written.

Just finished. These are really long books, but I think it's quite rewarding. Memory, Sorrow and Thorn, Book 4 To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 by Tad Williams narrated by Andrew Wincott

I just finished reading ( listening ) to Firestarter by Stephen King. It was a true classic, albeit slightly dated with certain technology terms, nothing negative though, just as gripping as a current thriller. 4/5 stars mainly because I wish it had gone on a bit longer. Seemed a quick read to me.

Just about finished "The Institute" by Stephen King and enjoying it, reminds me of his early work The Shining, Firestarter and The Stand, it's very easy to read and doesn't have masses of characters and info to remember. Big thanx to Goomer for a great quality audiobook.... https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/the-institute-stephen-king/

Currently Busy with Equalize by Ryan de Bruyn - Post-apocalyptic LitRPG, It's ok so far. The MC is a bit dumb and the swearing is replaced by 'PG' versions of swearing like "Oh Fudgenuggets" and "Hercules's hairy armpit'" but it's entertaining enough to finish the book. I quite like LitRPG books but this one will probably go into the quickly forgotten part of my brain.

The Accidental Hero AKA Jack Blank and the Imagine Nation- Publisher's Summary - A boy survives an attack by a robot-zombie and is smuggled away to a secret island full of aliens, super heroes - and the answers to his mysterious past.
Matt Myklusch's Jack Blank and the Imagination Nation combines action, humor, adventure, heroes, villains, and superpowers for a knockout epic story.
(More of a kidz tale...but it's really really good)

Currently rereading Shade of Devil By Shayne Silvers. Its here if anybody wants it, courtesy of the myth, the man, the legend MikeSpearman: https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/devils-dream-shade-of-devil-book-1-shayne-silvers/It is a retelling of Dracula where he wasn't the original vampire but the spawn of another. This other guy was cursed to be a vampire by the Greek gods. He proceeds to rampage Europe where he became known as the devil. But when we meet him he has handed over his crown to Dracula and sets sail to the new world in America to live with the natives in retirement. But he is attacked and would have died but was put into a coma for 500 years. I have to admit, I neglected it for a while due to the cheesy blurb but it honestly really resonated with me. If you are into UF and need to fill that desolate place in your heart where Dresden used to be I hope you will enjoy this

I just finished The Winner Stands Alone by Paulo Coelho. It’s and older book of his and completely different from his bestsellers (The Alchemist and The Witch of Portobello). Overall, I really liked it: I enjoyed the storyline and the narrators’ performances are spot-on.
