Just finished listening to The Force by Don Winslow. I was blown away!! It was that good. That Narrator Dion Graham did a fabulous job. https://www.amazon.com/The-Force-A-Novel/dp/B06XCT4P7D

The President Is Missing - Bill Clinton, James Patterson

As a thriller, it’s B-grade. It motors along, but the prose style is uninspired.
No way it would be a bestseller without the names on the cover.
The frequent hiding of information to increase suspense is just annoying. The cyber-threat plot is a load of BS. The presidential protagonist is basically the Ford character in “Air Force One”; an action-hero paragon of virtue. Clinton, like most first-time writers, idealising himself in the book. Another annoying thing is the deliberate obfuscation of which party he is in– it’s all “my party”, “the opposing party”. But when, especially in the finale, policies are mentioned, it’s obvious that he can only be a Democrat. Would have been a lot better just to say that and use it and be able to use real events and characters more. But I suppose the calculation was that might alienate some readers. Though it’s pretty unlikely anyone who dislikes Democrats would read a book by Clinton regardless.
My first Patterson novel and my last.

Just finished Leonard by William Shatner. Pretty interesting look into the lives of both Shatner and Nimoy. I haven't decided on what to read/listen to next.

Finished Captain Lacey series...

https://audiobookbay.lu/audio-books/captain-lacey-books-1-11-ashley-gardner-jennifer-ashley/

I must say... James Gillies brings Captain Lacey alive... nicely done....Smiley

And James Denis... interesting way he portrays him.... first book is a wee bit slow.. wallows a bit in depression...

I read that book years ago... and then started watching the handmaid's tale all caught up... I think EVERY woman should watch that show... every girl age appropriate should watch that show... I just wish it came out before the election...

It's really quite frightening as a possibility. They've done an amazing job on the show, I like how they've continued it further than the book went, but still stuck a lot to the book.  The benefit of the author being a consulting director.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to go with some serious fluff to listen to next though, just have to make the choice of which lol

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the original British audiobook that the CW series "The Tomorrow People" is based on, but that was utter rubbish, couldn't stand listening to it at all. Hope the Jumper books are (much) better.

Listening to To Beat the Devil: A Technomancer Novel, Book 1

 Click img for link

God gave up on mankind. Hell has literally been unleeshed on the world and humans are ruled over by demons. A smuggler named Salem stands against the order of things.

Genre listed as Fantasy, Paranormal. But I believe it also belongs in Cyberpunk.

Ruin of Stars: Mask of Shadows, Book 2, by Linsey Miller

One of those "badass works their way through a kill list of people who've wronged them" stories.

Not uploaded yet, but it's on my list of books to seed once I get all the forum requests done...

Just finished Tom Clancy Line of Sight by Mike Maden.

Having listened and enjoyed nearly all Jack Ryan and Mitch Rapp books, I am wondering what's next. Any suggestions?

Try Nelson de Mille's earlier books. Like many thriller writers he lost his edge after a few years of success, but judge for yourself.

Just finished Gorky Park and enjoyed it more than the movie, which was good....

So moving on I have decided to try Starlin's Ghost by Martin Cruz Smith

They're all great. Should be read in order, as they chronicle events in the USSR/Russia as they affect Arkady.

I've been able to download Reflex and an through about 75% now.

Looking for a good fantasy book now, but trying to find something that isn't about magic and magicians(or dragons) - they all seem to be about that : ( . I'm looking for something like a good demon/monster slaying or dungeon crawl story or something like that. I've already listened to The Godking's Legacy by Virlyce.

Currently working my way through Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. I've listened/read most of them before, however there are a couple sets that are new to me and I'm enjoying them immensely.

I've got quite a way to go before I'm done the entire series, but already considering what the listen to next :-)

Been a while since I've listened to any Frederick Forsyth so I grabbed a copy when I saw this and am pleasantly surprised how much I'm enjoying this....

Will be on the lookout for any more of his books...
