I’m a little confused about when this was released. Some say 2013, others say 2014. Maybe there is confusion over copyrighted vs. released. I gave it up.

Andy Weir published the book on his website originally, chapter by chapter. Then he did it as a Kindle in 2011.
Podium did the first audio version in 2013.

Then it was bought by Crown (Random House) and the first print edition was 2014.
They revised the book and later the same reader, R. C. Bray, who did the first version did a new reading.


I got the original reading in 2013, I don't know what the "new ending" is.
The 2013 version ends with a brief coda back on earth.

Bray is a very good reader, at least for most of the book narrated by Watney. Not so convincing when he does various accents for the NASA people.

Ya, my old version ends with them talking about how stinky he was and "to get a shower". Then a conversation with a little boy where he replies, "Are you out of your fucking mind!" The mom said, "Time to go!" and dug the boy away. --I actually did LOL at that.  Then The End.

The new version ends with a extended version of the "I'm Stinky" dialog then an Inspiring (epilog?), then a final "I smell like a skunk took a shit on dirty sweat-socks....This is the happiest day of my life". The end.

I haven't read either. Just posted for those that want it. I'm keeping both.
