Was recommended to listen to John Sandford but after checking I found he has several books, so I was wondering if theres an order to listen to them or if they are stand alone and can be listened to in any order.
Would appreciate any advice on the subject.

His first books are the Kidd and LuEllen series plus two stand-alone.  He is presently writing a teen/young adult series with his wife.  

The written order of the Virgil Flowers novels really doesn't effect the listening order except, maybe for the last three when he starts a steady relationship with Frankie, but not too much.

The Prey Series has a large number of  ongoing characters in earlier books  they have all but disappeared in the last books.  Del Capslock is still around.  Davenport's life and job has changed several times from no job to police, to state agency to US Marshall.  Those can be grouped.  There are now 28 books with Neon Prey coming soon.

The first four are the young, smart but cocky police officer.  He gets fired in Silent Prey.

Winter Prey, book 5, is a complete stand-alone.  Davenport goes off into the woods, has to review where his life is headed.  Weather, whom he later marries, comes in here.  A good place to start.  I think it was book 15, Hidden Prey, when his later-to-be adopted daughter is introduced.

There are several linked books, same bad guy.....and if someone out there can help and list them,  please do.
