Help finding book.

Please help me find this book. I exhaustively searched google and amazon without luck. I read it a while back, so my memory may not be completely accurate. Certain elements may actually be from a combination of two books, but I can't be sure; it's possible my brain may have assimilated multiple books into one. Any suggestions on what it might be are appreciated.

It is either cyberpunk or techno thriller. The main character is male, and African American. He gets pulled into a web of conspiracy where people are killed for their brain matter. The brain matter is harvested and turned into a drug that you can inject to use to get high. This drug is considered to give you the ultimate high, as it lets you relive the happiest memories and times of the people the drug was made from; for that reason wealthy people are often killed to be harvested, as they are considered to have more happy memories. The main character is eventually forced to go into hiding (can't remember why), and is in the end helped out by a detective who (I believe ) he either mistrusts or he was on the run from (or the detective was simply searching for him) - I think the protagonist may have been on the run because he was implicated in a murder. He is also helped out by a girl who is kind of like a futuristic prostitute, but uses a kind of controlled sex doll/toy/mechanical thing instead of using her body, and who he falls in love with - she may also have had something to do with him being implicated in a murder (which I belive is why he sought her out). In the end, the detective (although he knows it's highly illegal) presents the protagonist with a box that contains the brain matter(in drug form) of the protagonist's wife/mother to either keep as a memento or to use to relive her happy memories if he chooses to(she was previously killed and had her brain matter stolen).*

I know it's all pretty vague. Any help appreciated.

*The prostitute and wife may be from different stories or maybe the same. Not sure. Like I said, my recollection is vague.
