[Sicarius]

I was just wondering if anyone else has read any books by this author ? I absolutely love his Culture series and am interested in reading some of his non-culture books as well.

Hello Sicarius.

I'm a big fan of Iain Banks, with or without the "M." If you have read any of his Culture novels, you will be familiar with the dark wit that pervades his work. His writing without the "M" is just as dark. For example, the opening line to The Crow Road is,"'It was the day my grandmother exploded." If that doesn't make you want to read on, you have a problem. Give him a go. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I've read more than half of The Wasp Factory and while I don't enjoy it as well as his Culture novels, it is a good if rather weird read.
