Sometimes those books look like they would very good butt... butt... butt... butt... there are some things I don't want to envision. Just from the sheer quantity, most of them must be cookie-cutter plotted and written to a spec. My mother used to read a lot of Harlequin romances, and they are still big in the genre. I see a lot of housemaids here reading them still. In fact, the NY Times bestsellers list would be dominated by generic romance books if they weren't excluded (except for the occasional White House tell-all). |

Some time ago I discovered why there 's seemingly endless supply of gay "literature"; the guy (?) uploads stories that are mostly ten or twenty MBs big. He obviously gets his kicks by flooding the pages with them.  |

I have no problem with gays. And I understand there's a demand. And this is a good place for it. BUT when there's like 25 books approximating 10 to 15 MBs uploaded at one time, how hard could it be to group them?
I presume you're talking about ithwx. Looking at his uploads: https://audiobookbay.lu/member/users/index?&mode=userinfo&username=ithwxthe books he uploads the same day don't seem to have the same authors or be in the same series. Nothing in common except being gay romances. So it wouldn't be appropriate to just put them all in "Gay torrent #123". (I hate these "My favourite 20 books" torrents.) Looking at the Amazon pages for the books, they are released individually. He isn't splitting up sets just to get more uploads. After the series has been going for a while or has finally finished, then you can get the box-set version. Anyway, personally I have zero interest in these and also find it tedious to scroll past bare chests and brooding looks for page after page. But it's not his fault the site has no way to personalise what you see. (Except if you DIY with a browser plugin.) |

Haha, nice try. Yeah, it was, wasn't it. But you're still missing the point. While I have no interest whatsoever to listen gay stories, I mostly prefer collections as opposed to single books. I'd hate books telling about Schwarzenegger killing criminals with other criminals if they'd fill all the pages of ABB. And I really like Ahnut. |

That'd be wise & not just for you i mean anyone, it's fine if people wanna know or ask how to "filter" things but I can't begin to express how fukin pissed off i get when an uploader who's doing nothing wrong has to change the way they do things. I'm sure there's plenty of people who eye roll when 20 sci-fi's in a row go up but you don't hear them complaining. But what bothers me the most is knowing it actually bothered the uploader (not just ithwx) soo much they actually felt they had to give in...or worse, give up entirely. Never bend or break for anyone...EVER. Half you people don't got a fukin clue what goes on here to continuously keep bringing you what you want in all shapes in sizes, hell some of us could actually be imprisoned for some of the shit we do but i'm not just talkin bout uploads here... We have one of the most unlikely group friends doing soo many things...decrypting software...SCRIPTS TO HIDE THINGS YOU DON'T WANNA SEE... Windows & Linux code for doing things in batches or making the upload process more automated...Hate how slow audible's downloads are? Yeah we got a fix for that too and the list goes on & on. And all these things don't get done for us, we know how to do them...they're done for you. On our own time & in cahoots with users you wouldn't even think go together... So remember that the next time you wanna voice your gripes about too much free shit...cause you'll never know who else it might piss off or what else it may affect down the line. Edit: And on that note i see the admin has added an addition to the bbcode i've been talking to him on the side about... the  ... I'm not sure if it's setup the way i was hoping i haven't had a chance to "test" it yet but i wanted to be able to link audible's sample mp3s and have them playable in post so you didn't have to click over there to hear them. There's been many recommendation requests as of late and in the past and i've been meaning to make a post of "Whackbag's Favorites in no particular order" but i wanted to have playable samples in it so you didn't need to bounce back and forth to hear each one. |
