Have you looked at the Histories by Polybius? 
https://audiobookbay.lu/abss/the-hisxtories-polybius-w-r-paton-translator/  There are a couple other torrents and I have it locally as .opus coming in at 270 MB if you'd like me to upload that instead of getting the 1+ GB mp3/mp4 files.

Sadly polybius was hellenic centric. so his stories about marvelous greek heroes always saving the day is not taken seriously by scholars. but appian of alexandria is considered the most comprehensible from ancient historical literature to be read in full volum
