What energy source are they using to get all that metal out of the ground? Diesel
What energy source are they using to process all that metal? Coal. No so called ‘alt energy’ can get metal hot enough to process it.
What the dreamers are unaware of is Jevons paradox. For decades I have seen more solar panels and electric cars. Tesla built a 12 car charging station 4 block from my home last year and China blows the west away with all their alt energy BUT:

Industrial civilization cannot be ‘Greened’.
It’s still more - more ming more digging more burning more habitat destruction, more emissions, more pollution more more more.
Most of the humans will never get it, except for the hard way. Humans have triggered runaway global warming, a mass extinction (runaway dying off of species) humans are in unprecedented global Overshoot and most are incapable of stopping due to some of the very same forces that got them in this dire position to begin with. The notion that humans are calling the shots is laughable. Every year for over 30 years I’ve been told that I “just don’t get it” by the green hopium pimps and told I’m a dupe by the deniers, yet all the data proves me right. Y’all greens never stop talking, yet every year there are more humans and more record breaking greenhouse gas emissions and less species and less forests and more palm oil plantations and more record smashing wildfires and floods and on and on.
Before this century is out the humans will go into the Fermi’s Paradox book of self destructed intelligent species. I don’t see civilization making it past mid century and I’m sure the American left will find a way to blame it on Putin.
