I got this off of BB site but doesn’t work on MPC or VLC but works on my phone under Smart Audiobook Player, the native music player, and the generic audio and video player
FYI: The reason why it works on my phone but not other desktop media players is that it’s not quite “standard” AAC, but rather a variant called “USAC” which is a bit more efficient for speech. As usual, compatibility for for such things can be really slow to roll out, but both Android and iOS have supported it for a while now. some be builts do run USAC

@freakyguro: I had the same problem, but didn’t know why, so thank you for the explanation.
Unfortunately, I have no use for the audiobook if I can only play it on my phone.
Does anyone know of a converter (that runs on Windows 32-bit) that can convert it to standard AAC?

The issue is the license for that codec. It’s not a free license so either you have to find a media player that has xhe-aac playability, build your own with the latest ffmpeg or funny enough your browser. You can play it on Firefox or Edge it’s clunky but it runs..
Weirdly enough Windows Media Player also plays it your computer can actually run it it’s just the players can’t use that Library that your OS has so try to download the latest version of your player or build it but right clicking the file and open it as Firefox or Edge also does the same thing.

wont work on iphone. if you try to copy it to the phone it just gives you a link icon and never copies. strange so many light novels are getting messed up this way makes me sad.
