Wow, this narrator is a very bad actor. Totally over-the-top all the time, very stilted and just bad choices for voices: MC sounds like a 70 year old, all townspeople sound like retards.
I put him on my List of impossible-to-tolerate narrators, where there is only one other: Brendan Robert Kane

I couldn’t have said it better. The MC is what? 20 years old? why is the narrator making him sound like a dim witted 78 year old?

The MC is reborn, so he is old in spirit. I don’t find it that odd that he is narrated as an older man. That said, I don’t care for the narrator. He doesn’t have the range that most others doing LitRPG have these days. The writing itself is okay. The magic system is interesting but the characters are dull.

The story is fine until the war then it just goes off the rails. The author has little to no life experience and the characterization of the people show it. Its all white knight simp tropes. Black and white framing all the while the MC is unironically doing worse shit to his town. The MC is mind controlling the town spying on them and reading their thoughts. Then gets all morally outraged by slavery. The hypocrisy is so bad the author doesn’t even realize it.
