Dramatization
Jonathan Myerson’s dramatisation of Boris Pasternak’s epic tale spanning four decades of war, revolution, passion and terror.
The Russian Revolution forms the background to this beautiful but heartbreaking tale of four young people, Yury, Tonya, Lara and Pasha, who find love only to lose it again in tragic circumstances.
Episode 1:
Yuri and Lara are coming of age on different sides of Moscow. Their lives are parallel but on very different tracks.
Episode 2:
An affluent childhood in Imperial Moscow has left Yuri Zhivago with a career as a doctor and an engagement to Tonya. But his life will change when he meets Lara.
Episode 3:
Returning to Moscow, Yuri finds it hard to adjust to post-revolutionary family life. The city has become a dangerous place, and the only safety lies in leaving and going east. But Lara has also gone in that direction.
Episode 4:
Yuri and his family have fled Moscow. Arriving in the remote Ural mountains, they find civil war raging and the mysterious Bolshevik general Strelnikov in charge of the nearest town, which happens to be where Lara is.
Episode 5:
Kidnapped by Red partisan troops to serve as their doctor, Yuri has been a prisoner in the forest for two years. The waste of life sickens him, and he has no news of Tonya or Lara. At last the chance comes to escape back to Yuryatin.
Episode 6:
Even in the wilds of Siberia, Yuri, Lara and Pasha face death in Bolshevik purges. Komarovsky brings them an impossible choice. The revolutionary events which brought Yuri and Lara together are finally pulling them apart, but there is one more meeting to come.

A Note on Audio Metadata
One of my frustrations with the audio content I download from ABB is the amount of time I always need to spend fixing the metadata and adding cover art to make it work nicely with Plex/Prologue. With that in mind, all audio content I share on ABB will always have complete and correct metadata, including:
- Author and Title
- Description (using the DESCRIPTION field read that can read by Plex)
- Narrator (using the COMPOSER field which can be read by Prologue)
- Genre Tags (I add all relevant Genres typically taken from Goodreads. These can be used to create smart collections in Plex.)
- Cover Art (I always use the highest resolution image I can find. Where none exists, I will find a suitable image from the internet - often r/audiobookcovers - or create one based on existing artwork.
Furthermore, the audio will always be in m4b format (to support chapter markers and ensure Plex can read the Description tag). The audio will always be correctly chapterized, where necessary, and chapter markers will be correctly named.
This means that all content I share here can be considered Plex/Prologue-ready with all metadata and artwork included. I hope this encourages others to do the same.
(FYI: I typically add metadata using kid3 and chapter markers using Ocenaudio.)

Thank you, audiowyrm, that’s quite a lot of work on your part, much appreciated.
@Zilant, this is the fully cast radio adaptation, not the entire book — only the most dramatic content is retained.
