Exorcism is torture under the guise of altruism. Demonic possession is science fiction, and anyone claiming they do it in real life is wrong. It’s so easy to see how demonic possession was used in the Salem Witch Hunts to kill women the town didn’t like. It’s hardly any different with this. If the majority thinks what you do is wrong, you’re said to be possessed by a demon, and someone has to come and torture you until you conform. Religion is a crutch people use to enact prejudices against others that don’t share their beliefs, and real life “exorcisms” are just torture by another name. Religion makes way for ANYONE to be accused of anything unnatural as a demon inhabiting them.

Stupid and meretricious comment by ’secretclean,’ who I guarantee had no interest in downloading or listening to the book but couldn’t resist the opportunity to air his self-righteous grievances against religion in general and offer us a bunch of sweeping statements nobody asked for.
